QMJHL Roundup: Richard, Gauthier with big nights as Foreurs rout Islanders
VAL-D’OR, Que. — Anthony Richard and Julien Gauthier both had four-point nights as the Val-d’Or Foreurs routed the Charlottetown Islanders 8-1 on Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Richard and Gauthier had two goals and two assists apiece to lead the Foreurs (12-7-3) offensively. Jan Mandat also scored twice, with Olivier Galipeau and William Gignac adding the others. Anthony Beauregard tacked on four assists.
Oliver Cooper had the only goal for Charlottetown (10-9-2) in the second period.
Etienne Montpetit made 21 saves for the win. Calgary Flames prospect Mason McDonald turned away 19-of-25 shots in 41:51 for the Islanders before giving way to Guillaume Briand-Briere. Briand-Briere kicked out 12-of-14 shots in relief.
Val-d’Or went 3 for 6 on the power play, with Charlottetown going scoreless on two chances.

GATINEAU, Que. — Vincent Milot-Ouellet scored twice and added an assist as the Olympiques downed Drummondville.
Elie Berube, Vitalii Abramov, Jonathon Masters and Yakov Trenin also chipped in for Gatineau (12-6-2), which got three assists from Alex Dostie.
Michael Carcone, Mathieu Sevigny and Frederic Aube had goals for the Voltigeurs (12-10-0).

HALIFAX — Danny Moynihan scored his second of the game in overtime as the Mooseheads edged Baie-Comeau.
Timo Meier had a goal and three assists for Halifax (8-12-2), with Maxime Fortier adding a goal and two assists of his own. Taylor Ford rounded out the attack.
Vaclav Karabacek scored once and tacked on three helpers to lead the Drakkar (3-14-1). Matthieu Desautels, Nicolas Lelond and Matt Jones also found the back of the net.

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Anthony Beauvillier had the only goal of the shootout and added another in regulation as Shawinigan got past the Tigres.

Pascal Laberge struck twice for Victoriaville (9-8-3), with Samuel Blais and Gabriel Gagne also chipping in.

Charley Graaskamp, Bronson Beaton and Matthew Boucher scored for Quebec (11-9-2).
