Tigres’ Sévigny suspended four games
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced today that Victoriaville Tigres forward, Vincent Sévigny, has been suspended for four (4) games for a hit to the head.
The rationale
As the Victoriaville player (#46 – Vincent Sévigny) closed in on his opponent (#15 – Zachary Bolduc), he had enough time to decide and chose to hit the Rimouski player, making significant contact with the head, which could have been avoided.
Even though we think the Victoriaville player did not have a malicious approach to the body check, the result is clear, and we want to eliminate this type of hit.
The message has been clear since the start of the season, a player should have the shoulders or chest area as a target in every situation on the ice, there is no excuse.
Therefore, the QMJHL Department of Player Safety imposes a 4-game suspension to #46 Vincent Sévigny of the Victoriaville Tigres.
