Hooked on School Days – Acadie-Bathurst
Cole has been a member of the Acadie Bathurst Titan for the past four years after being traded to Bathurst from Val d’or in 2015. When he arrived, he had a number of educational challenges as his home province, Nova Scotia, had certain graduation requirements. Cole is an average student who must work for his success. As a result, with hard work and determination, and the support and help of his parents, Academic Advisors, Bathurst High School teachers and his home high school, West Kings District High School, he was able to graduate in June of 2017 from West Kings. He is now taking courses from Acadia University to work towards a Business Degree.
His Grade 12 Biology teacher told me that if Cole missed a class or two because of a road trip, and needed help, he would show up before class, coffee in hand for her looking for assistance. He realized what was needed to succeed. In hockey, he shows the same dedication and perseverance. Cole has to work hard for everything he gets on the ice. As a result of his determination and effort, Cole has been chosen captain of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. He is now my “go to player” when I need to contact all or some of the players. In his new role, he has shown responsibility and leadership. Because of his perseverance and commitment, I know Cole will be successful in whatever he chooses to do with his future.
