Remparts’ Audy-Marchessault Named CHL Player of the Week
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that forward Jonathan Audy-Marchessault of the Quebec Remparts is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 3 after scoring one goal with seven assists for eight points in two games.
Audy-Marchessault led the Remparts to a four-game sweep of the Val d’Or Foreurs in the first round of the QMJHL Playoffs. He recorded three assists on Tuesday as first star of a 9-0 win in Game three before wrapping up the series with a goal and four assists as second star of a 5-2 win in Game four on Wednesday. The Remparts begin their second round playoff series on Friday night when they host the Shawinigan Cataractes.
Audy-Marchessault, a 20-year-old from Cap-Rouge, Quebec, is playing in his fourth and final QMJHL season with the Remparts. He currently leads the playoff scoring race with five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in four games after finishing the regular season tied for sixth in league scoring with 95 points in 68 games.
Anthony Luciani of the Erie Otters was also considered for the award after scoring six goals and three assists for nine points in four games, while Shane McColgan of the Kelowna Rockets scored three times with two assists for five points in two games to wrap up their first round playoff series against the Prince George Cougars in four straight games.
