Rd 2, #37 – Jackson Batchilder, Charlottetown Knights

Jackson’s #1 quality is his mobility. Right-shot defenceman is an agile skater whether it’s in transition or on the offensive blue line. He can carry the puck and also has a very good first pass. Defensively, he uses his skating ability and has a good stick to take away time and space. He will need to continue to mature physically to be a dominant player at the Major Junior level.

Rd 3, #39 – Niko El Khouri, Gaulois de St-Hyacinthe

Niko is an offensive minded, explosive Left winger who had an excellent season playing on the top 2 lines with his U18AAA team in Saint Hyacinthe. He showed excellent offensive vision and is very creative with the puck. He’s a hard worker who has very good puck skills. He has all of the tools to be an impact offensive player for the Wildcats in the future.

Rd 3, #44 – Dominik Necak, Vikings de St-Eustache

Like Batchilder, Dominik is a very good skater with very good agility and edge work. He’s a Left shot defenceman who plays well in transition with the puck and in the defensive zone without it. He has an excellent 1 st pass and will be a player who will log lots of minutes as he matures with the Wildcats.

Rd 4, #57 – Victor Morrissette-Richer, Collège Notre-Dame M18 D1

Victor played at the Prep School level in Quebec this year but caught the eye of the scouts with his intensity and passion for the game. He has good size and skill and has all of the qualities to be a very good junior player in the future.

Rd 6, #98 – Max Hanley, Valley Wildcats

Max is a left-shot defenceman who plays a complete game. He has good mobility and is solid physically. He has very good defensive instincts and has a good stick. He sees the ice well, makes a good first pass and can support the play on offence. He’s another defenceman who has the potential to play big minutes for the Wildcats in the future.

Rd 6, #105 – Will Cole, Cole Harbour Wolf Pack

Will was a steal for the Wildcats in the 6th round. He has excellent technic and is very quick. He competes hard and has above average reflexes. He also reads the play very well. He has the potential to be a #1 Major Junior goalie in the future.

Rd 7, #111. Jacoby Weiner, Mid Fairfield 15U

Jacoby is a big, right hand catching goalie who played last year at the 15’s level in the US. He is considered one of the top goaltenders for his age south of the border. Along with his good size, he moves very well and does a great job challenging the shooters. He has very good feet and is tough to beat low.

Rd 7, #123 – Loic Nasreddine, Dallars Stars 15U

Loic is the son of former NHL player and current Assistant Coach of the Dallas Stars, Allain Nasreddine. He competes every shift and difficult to play against in the defensive zone. He moves the puck very well. Loic could be a very good player for the Wildcats in the future.

Rd 8, #141- Elliot Mullen, Mississauga Senators U16 AAA

Elliott is a Right shot forward with good size. He has a great work ethic and plays a 200 ft game. He protects the puck well and doesn’t mind going hard to the net with the puck. He is a responsible, complete player who can play in all situations.

Rd 9, #159 – Samuel Deschenes, Triolet M17 AAA

Samuel is a Right shot winger with good size and competes every shift. He loves the physical play and is very good on the forecheck. This past season, he was the captain of his team and is a natural leader. Offensively, he can create chances as well as score.

Rd 10, #169 – Loic Gallant, Collège Notre-Dame Rivière-du-Loup

Loic is a Right shot defenceman who had a very good year in the Quebec U18AAA league after playing high school the previous year. He has good size and a very good shot. He moves the puck well and spent some time on the power play. He uses his body well in the defensive zone and could fight for a spot at training camp.

Rd 10, #173 – Spencer Thornborough, Governor’s Academy

Spencer is a LW offensive player from the US. He reads the play well and has some very good tools. He represented Team USA at the Youth Olympics this past year and could become a dominant player for the Wildcats in the future.

Rd 10, #177 – Charles-Olivier Giguère, Canimex M17AAA

Charles-Olivier is a RW who progressed very well during the last season. He improved his speed and agility to go with his offensive talents. A 2007 born player, he competes hard every shift and could be a surprise in training camp.

Rd 11, #195 – Jérémy Thibodeau-Soucy, Vikings St-Eustache

Jeremy is a 2007 born goalie who had an excellent season with his team posting a .909 save percentage, which was top 10 in the Quebec U18AAA league. He’s a classic butterfly goaltender who is very calm in the net. He reads the play well and has very good rebound control.

Rd 12, #213 – Tristan Turner, Halifax Macs

At 6 feet tall, Tristan has always been an impact player growing up in minor hockey. He can play centre as well as the LW. He’s a very good skater for his size who protects the puck well in open ice and along the boards. He also has a very good shot and can help out in the offensive end.

Rd 13, #231 – Xavier Trepanier, Gaulois Richelieu M17AAA

Xavier is an offensive player whose season was cut short by injuries, which played a part in the Wildcats being able to select him in the 13th round. He has a smart player with a very good touch with the puck who can also get under the skin of his opponents with his tenacity and drive.

Rd 14, #249 – Louis-Philippe Richard, Lac St-Louis M17AAA

Louis-Philippe is a Right shot centre with good size and plays well at both ends of the ice. He can be a physical presence and has good hands and a good shot. If he improves his speed and his strength, he could cause some surprises in the near future.
