MacAskill’s goal in second overtime earns Moosehead 3-2 win over Wildcats

MONCTON, N.B. (CP) – Ben MacAskill’s goal at 1:23 of the second overtime period earned the Halifax Mooseheads a thrilling 3-2 win over the Moncton Wildcats in QMJHL playoff action Tuesday night.

The win gave Halifax the best-of-seven opening series 4-3.

Jakub Voracek and Colby Pridham scored in regulation time for Halifax. Mark Yetman stopped 47 shots.

For the Moncton Wildcats, Matt Marquardt and Nick Emmanuele scored while Jhase Sniderman made 44 saves.
