ORDER OF SELECTION – 2015 QMJHL ENTRY DRAFT
The Halifax Mooseheads will head to the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft next month with a plethora of picks in their pocket. The Herd currently have 17 selections in the 14 Round Draft coming up on Saturday, June 6th in Sherbrooke highlighted by the 7th Overall pick.

There’s a chance that number will change in some capacity once the General Managers’ gather on the floor of the Palais des Sports Léopold-Drolet. Draft day in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is always busy in terms of trades, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Cam Russell use his extra picks to either try and move up in the draft or use them in some other sort of deal throughout the weekend.
Russell made three trades at last year’s Draft weekend, sending Luca Ciampini to the Drakkar for a 2015 2nd Round selection (30th Overall) while dealing Andrew Ryan to Bathurst for 2014 3rd and 5th rounders and finally swapping the Mooseheads 2014 8th Round pick to the Drakkar for a 2015 7th Round selection (120th Overall).
The Saint John Sea Dogs (owners of three of the top ten picks) will be the first team on the podium thanks to winning the coin flip over Acadie-Bathurst with a draft pick they nabbed from Cape Breton in the Olivier LeBlanc trade. The pick originally came from Drummondville when the Screaming Eagles sent William Carrier to the Volts in 2014.
After the Dogs, the Titan are scheduled to select second followed by Victoriaville, Cape Breton, Charlottetown and Cape Breton again before the Mooseheads step up to the stage for the seventh pick.
