Halifax, NS – The Halifax Mooseheads announced the resignation of Head Coach Sylvain Favreau on Monday after six seasons on the bench with the team.
Favreau, who joined the Mooseheads as an Assistant Coach in 2017, is leaving for personal reasons. The Orleans, ON native compiled a record of 88-48 in 136 games as Head Coach over the last two seasons.
“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire organization. I am grateful for the support, collaboration and camaraderie I have experienced throughout my tenure with the Mooseheads,” Favreau said.
He led the Mooseheads to a Maritimes Division title in 2022-23 and a berth in the QMJHL’s Gilles Courteau Trophy Finals with the second-best record in franchise history at 50-11-4-3.
“We would like to thank Sylvain for his unwavering commitment, dedication and immense contributions to the Mooseheads the last six years. We wish him the best in his future,” said Sam Simon, Chairman and Owner of the Halifax Mooseheads, and Peter Simon, President of Simon Sports.
The search for a new Head Coach will begin immediately.
