DRAFT PREVIEW: GABRIEL FORTIER
Forward Gabriel Fortier is the third ranked player by QMJHL Central Scouting for the June 4th Entry Draft in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
Fortier is touted as the best skater in the entire draft. The younger brother of Mooseheads star Maxime Fortier had an excellent rookie season with the Lac St-Louis Lions and helped guide the team to the QMAAA Jimmy Ferrari Cup title. He had three points in seven games at the Telus Cup in Quispamsis.
His wrist shot and speed ombined with stellar special teams play are what sets him apart from many other draft eligible players and he is projected to be an elite player in the QMJHL.
The Lachine, QC native also played a key role for Canada at the Youth Olympic Games where he won a Silver Medal.
Fortier shoots left, stands 5-foot-9 and weighs 164 pounds. He was born on February 6th, 2000.
