Q & A with Cole Murphy:
Q1: Tell us about your Minor Hockey career.
A1: I played my Minor Hockey with the Cole Harbour Red Wings from Novice to Bantam.
Q2: Where did you play your Midget hockey?
A2: I played Major Midget for the Dartmouth Subway of the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League. We had a lot of great players on that team and alot of the guys are playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League right now.
Q3: You were drafted by the Screaming Eagles at the 2011 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Entry Draft in round three, 57th overall. Tell us about your draft year and your thoughts on being selected by Cape Breton.
A3: I was really excited to get drafted by Cape Breton. I had a feeling they were going to take me and I was very excited when they did.
Q4: In 30 games this season, you have four points (one goal, three assists). Tell us what your thoughts on the season to this point and what goals you have for the remainder of the year.
A4: I had a slow first half of the season and I would like to contribute with some more points during the second half of the year, but mostly just work hard and help the team get wins.
Q5: During the first half of the season, you played at times on a line with Clark Bishop and Charles Guevremont. Tell us what it is like to play with such talented rookies.
A5: They are both great players and they have a ton of skill. We worked well together and it is very easy playing with those two players.
Q6: You were born in Halifax, NS., however, your hometown is Cole Harbour. Tell us about your hometown.
A6: Cole Harbour is a small town, but everyone is very close. It is a very tight knit Community and everyone is friendly.
Q7: Tell us some interesting facts about your family.
A7: I have two siblings, a brother named Chase and a sister named Julia, who are both younger. My mother’s name is Ingrid and my father’s name is Shane.
Q8: Who is the one person you would like to thank for getting you where you are today with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles? Why?
A8: I would like to thank my parents for sure. They have supported me completely throughout my career and are the reason I’m playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Q9: If hockey does not work out, what goals do you have for the future?
A9: If hockey does not work out, I am leaning towards trying to become a lawyer, but I am still not sure.
Q10: What is one thing you like about Cape Breton? Why?
A10: The one thing I like about Cape Breton is How nice the people are. Everyone is very welcoming and kind, it is a great atmosphere around the city.
