It was a memorable evening at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre as the Cape Breton Eagles hosted their annual awards banquet.
The team presented ten player awards and one honorary award, along with the three annual Crystal Eagle Awards to the club’s graduating 20-year-old players: Lucas Romeo, Félix Hamel, and Lewis Gendron.
Eagle’s Captain Lewis Gendron led the way, taking home MVP, Top Scorer, and the Tokyo Lloyd Outstanding Work Ethic Award — a fitting sendoff for the 20-year-old.
The evening also paid tribute to a true Eagles original.
Dave LeBlanc, known as “The Voice of Cape Breton,” and the team’s public address announcer since 1997, was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution Award. After nearly three decades behind the mic, Dave officially stepped away following his final game on September 26, 2025 — the 2025–2026 home opener.
For generations of fans, his voice was part of the Eagles experience, and his impact on the organization will not be forgotten.
