Screaming Eagles Trade Pierre-Luc Dubois To Blainville-Boisbriand
SYDNEY- Today the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles announced the trade of forward Pierre-Luc Dubois (1998-06-24) to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. In exchange, the Screaming Eagles receive forward Mathias Laferrière (2000-06-27), a first round draft choice in 2017, and a second round choice in 2018. Both draft choices originally belonged to Blainville-Boisbriand.
Dubois was chosen with the fifth overall pick in the 2014 QMJHL draft by Cape Breton and was selected third overall in the 2016 NHL draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets. This season in Cape Breton, Dubois has collected 18 points in 20 games, and represented Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship.
Laferrière was the seventh overall selection in the 2016 QMJHL draft by the Armada and has appeared in seven games this season for Blainville-Boisbriand. In 21 games with his midget AAA Lac St-Louis club he has compiled 39 points in 21 games this season. In 2016 he was the MVP at the national midget AAA championship tournament, the Telus Cup.
The Screaming Eagles return to action this evening when they visit the Charlottetown Islanders at 7 PM.
