Canada advances to WU18 Semis with 9-1 win

GRAND FORKS, ND – Brett Howden (Moose Jaw Warriors) led the way on the scoresheet with two goals and three assists as Canada rolled to a 9-1 win over Switzerland in Quarter-Final action at the 2016 World Under-18 Hockey Championship.
Canada went 4-for-5 on the man advantage, outshooting the Swiss 45-26 as Michael McLeod (Mississauga Steelheads) also scored twice while Will Bitten (Flint Firebirds) collected two assists.
Evan Fitzpatrick (Sherbrooke Phoenix) made 25 saves in goal as Canada improved to an overall record of 5-0, setting up a Semi-Final matchup with Sweden, who took a 7-2 Quarter-Final win over Slovakia on Thursday.
Saturday’s Semi-Final matchup is set for 8:00pm ET, a game that can be seen live across the country on TSN.
