CHL to NHL: Tomasek makes NHL debut with Oilers
10-years in the making. Former Belleville Bulls’ forward David Tomasek made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night.
In a 4-3 shootout loss Tomasek registered his first NHL point, helping set up Leon Draisaitl’s first of the season, in 13:20 minutes of ice-time.
Originally drafted 53rd overall in the 2013 CHL Import Draft, the native of Praha, Czech Republic spent two seasons in the OHL. Tomasek scored 26 goals and 58 points across 119 games with the Bulls from 2013-2015.
Before signing with the Oilers, the 6’2″ forward was dominant in the SHL leading the league in goals in 2023-24 and points in 2024-25 while being named SHL MVP in 2025.
