First Career NHL Goal scored by Cody Glass
Cody Glass will remember that one for a lifetime.
The Vegas Golden Knights forward netted his first career NHL goal Wednesday, burying a perfect shot by San Jose Sharks netminder Martin Jones and earned first star honours in an eventual 4-1 win.
Wednesday’s contest marked Glass’ debut with the Golden Knights, the club that selected him sixth overall in the 2017 NHL Draft. Glass also becomes the first Vegas draft choice to score an NHL goal and at 20 years, 184 days, is the club’s youngest player in franchise history to accomplish the feat.
The @GoldenKnights' first-ever pick just scored his first NHL goal becoming the youngest player to ever score for the franchise.

“It felt like a dream come true,” Glass said post-game. “A lot of emotion at the time and it was special to have my family in the crowd. When I was sitting on the bench I just had goosebumps. The crowd was unbelievable. Just a really special moment.”
The Winnipeg native joins the Golden Knights after wrapping up four seasons with the Portland Winterhawks in which he collected 292 points counting 94 goals and 198 assists across 239 contests.
“He was real good,” Golden Knights head coach Gerard Gallant said post-game followed by a hint of humour. “Exactly what I expected this morning. Now he’s got 81 more games to do it. But he was awesome. Good for him.”
