CHL Top 10
- The Moncton Wildcats (1) took down Acadie-Bathurst 5-1 to extend its streak to 6-0-1. The Wildcats’ 14 wins lead the QMJHL while they’re the first CHL club to 30 points this season.
- In a battle between two Top 10 clubs, the Rimouski Oceanic (8) got the best of the Drummondville Voltigeurs (2). Rimouski’s 11 wins are tied for the third most in the QMJHL’s Eastern Conference.
- The London Knights (4) collected a seventh straight win courtesy of a 6-2 decision over North Bay. The defending OHL champions own the league’s best power play at 30.4 per cent.
- The Everett Silvertips (5) saw its 7-0-1 streak ended by Tri-City after an 8-6 defeat. Everett’s 13 wins and 27 points continue to lead the WHL.
- The Kitchener Rangers (7) extended its incredible streak to 12-0-2 after a 4-0 win against the Soo. Kitchener’s 26 points tops the OHL.
- In their first appearance inside the CHL Top 10 this season, the Chicoutimi Sagueneens (10) narrowly fell 4-3 to Sherbrooke. The Sags’ 26 points are the second most in the Q’s Eastern Conference.
NHL prospect watch
- Sam Dickinson (SJ) had his second hat-trick of the season in London’s victory over North Bay. Dickinson’s 11 goals leads OHL d-men while his 22 points rank second
- Henry Mews (CAL) had four assists in Ottawa’s 5-1 win against Brampton while captain Luca Pinelli (CBJ had two goals and an assist. Mews’ 18 points are tied for the fourth most among OHL blueliners while Pinelli leads the club in scoring with 23 points.
- Rimouski captain Jacob Mathieu had hat-trick and added an assist in the Oceanic’s 6-3 win over the Voltigeurs. It was the Oceanic’s captains second hat-trick of the season while his 12 goals leads the club.
- Ryan Roobroeck (2025) scored three times in Niagara’s 4-3 victory versus Sarnia. Roobroeck has 12 goals in 17 games this year.
- Lethbridge d-man Tristan Doyle tallied four assists in the Hurricanes’ 7-3 win over Moose Jaw. The 18-year-old has eight assists in seven games this year.
- Oliver Tulk scored the overtime winner as Calgary beat Seattle 4-3. Tulk, who scored 40 goals last season, has 18 points (four goals) in 16 games.
- Cash Koch had three points (2G, 1A) as the Tri-City Americans beat Everett 8-6 to win their 10th straight. The Americans’ 11 wins and 22 points are both tied for the second most in the WHL while their three regulation losses are tied for the league’s fewest alongside the Silvertips.
CHL USA Prospects Challenge
- Malcolm Spence (2025) added three assists in Erie’s 7-4 loss to Guelph. Spence sits second in Otters scoring with 22 points while he extended his point streak to nine games.
- Jackson Smith (2025) also had a trio of assists in Tri-City’s 8-6 victory over Everett. A gold medallist at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, Smith has 17 points in 15 games this year. His 16 assists are tied for the third most among WHL defencemen.
