T-Birds Join Seattl’e Newest Sports Radio Station
1090 The Fan is new broadcast partner of the T-Birds
KENT, January 2, 2013 — The Seattle Thunderbirds are pleased to announce 1090 The Fan is the team’s new broadcast partner.
For the remainder of the regular season and playoffs, T-Birds fans can now hear team game broadcasts over the air on 1090 The Fan (1090 KFNQ-AM) and online at www.1090thefan.com.
There are also plans for a weekly coach’s show with head coach Steve Konowalchuk on 1090 The Fan. This show will air weekly on the Steve Sandmeyer Show on days to be determined.
“We are excited about our partnership with 1090 The Fan,” said T-Birds Vice President Colin Campbell. “As they launch we are looking forward to working with them to promote the team and the players on our roster who are aiming for the NHL.”
Seattle’s newest radio station, 1090 The Fan, launched Wednesday, features national and local sports programming, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with coverage and access to the most significant events in sports. Whether it’s breaking news, comprehensive sports updates, live on-site coverage, or an all- star line up of the biggest names in sports, 1090 The Fan will offer listeners a fully interactive sports experience. 1090 The Fan (1090 KFNQ-AM) can be heard on-air, online at www.1090thefan.com, and via a variety of mobile devices.
1090 The Fan, offers around-the-clock national sports coverage and programming, harnessing the power and resources of CBS RADIO and the award-winning CBS Sports. High-profile network personalities include Jim Rome, Tiki Barber, Doug Gottlieb, John Feinstein and Scott Ferrall, who head up the national front while local sports radio veteran, Steve Sandmeyer, anchors Afternoon Drive. 1090 The Fan is also the home for play-by-play coverage of the WNBA’s Seattle Storm.
The T-Birds next game against the Kamloops Blazers at the Interior Savings Centre on Friday will be the first game heard on 1090 The Fan. Game time is 7pm.
T-Birds single game tickets for the 2012-13 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
