In his second season with the T-Birds Simon Kubicek had seven goals and 20 assists for 27 points in 52 games. He was ranked #95 in the NHL Central Scouting midterm rankings for the 2020 NHL Draft. Kubicek was ranked #136 in the final NHL Central Scouting rankings for the 2020 NHL Draft. Kubicek played for the Czech Republic at the 2020 World Junior Championship. He had a goal and two assists in five games at the tournament. Kubicek had two assists in a game three times this season, at the Kamloops Blazers in the season opener on September 21, against the Everett Silvertips on January 11, and at the Silvertips on March 7.
