Skoleski On Board
EVERETT, Wash. – The Everett Silvertips and general manager Garry Davidson announced today the signing of prospect forward Devon Skoleski to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
“Devon came into camp as a free agent invite and made an impact on us very quickly,” said Davidson. “He’s a testimony to the rewards that are around the corner when a strong work ethic meets opportunity. He gets around the ice very well and has a great skill package. With his history of offensive production, we’re confident his upside will be a tremendous fit.”
Skoleski (skohl-ES-kee), 17, has suited up in two preseason games with the Silvertips – wins in back-to-back nights over Spokane and Portland on Sept. 5-6 – and last season earned 56 points (25g-31a) in 44 games, leading the Eastman Selects in scoring and ranking sixth in the Manitoba Midget Hockey League. The 5-foot-9, 150-pound forward led the club in assists (31), power play points (15), power play assists (9), and was second in goals (25).
The native of St. Adolphe, Manitoba also added a goal in one game last season with the Winnipeg Blues (MJHL).
