Silvertips Facing Chiefs in WHL Playoffs
EVERETT – The U.S. Division Champion Everett Silvertips are taking on the Spokane Chiefs in the first round of the 2015 WHL Playoffs, presented by Mountain Pacific Bank. The Silvertips have home ice advantage for the first time in five years with up to four home games against the Chiefs taking place at XFINITY Arena.
Everett won five of the eight head-to-head matchups against Spokane this season on the way to finishing atop the U.S. Division standings with a 43-20-3-6 record for 95 points, the third-best regular season in franchise history. The Chiefs are the Western Conference first wild card after finishing fourth in the U.S. Division at 34-34-3-1 for 72 points. The teams have met three times before in the first round of the playoffs, with the ‘Tips taking two of those series vs. Spokane.
