Join the Silvertips in the Movember Effort!
EVERETT – On the heels of our hugely successful “Pink the Rink” effort to battle breast cancer last month, the Everett Silvertips are taking part in “Movember” throughout this month, growing moustaches and raising money to help fight men’s cancers. Through our team, the “Everett Silvertips Mo Bros” at Movember.com, you can donate to the cause and help us rank among the top fundraising teams in the entire Canadian Hockey League once again!
Movember is a global men’s health charity engaging men to grow and women to support the Mo (moustache) for the 30 days of November. Through the power of the moustache, awareness and funds are raised for men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. These “Mo Bros” effectively become walking, talking billboards throughout the month, inspiring conversation about around the often ignored issue of men’s health and seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
The funds raised in the US are directed to programs run directly by Movember and their men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG Foundation. Together, the three channels work together to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with their strategic goals in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.

You can then choose to make a donation on the individual page of your favorite Silvertips player/team member or donate to the team. You can also join in the effort by creating your own Movember profile, joining our team and encouraging your own family, friends and co-workers to donate to your page!
Last year the Silvertips finished among the top ten fundraising teams in the Canadian Hockey League Network, and with your help this year, we’re hoping to surpass that effort to raise even more money to fight men’s cancers. Watch throughout the month as our moustaches and donation totals continue to grow, and help us spread the word!
