Brian Harpell has served as the Silvertips’ chaplain, through Hockey Ministries International (HMI), since the inception of the franchise in 2003. A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, he got involved in hockey at a young age, loves the game, and still laces up the skates twice a week to play. For Brian, hockey is the consummate team sport and an incredible environment to learn invaluable life lessons.

Brian has resided in Everett for 31 years, having served as lead pastor at the First Baptist Church of Everett, Washington for 30 years. He has a doctoral degree and has a passion for empowering others to serve according to their gifting and passion.

In addition to serving as chaplain to the Silvertips, he is often asked to speak on the topic of leadership, and he provides leadership training in the United States, Canada and Cuba.

Brian and his wife, Lynne reside in south Everett, and have been happily married for 42 years. They have two married children and two grandchildren.
