TRADE: Silvertips acquire goaltender Ethan Chadwick from Saskatoon Blades
EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Silvertips acquired goaltender Ethan Chadwick from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for two WHL Draft picks Thursday morning. In exchange for the ’04-born netminder, the Silvertips shipped out the 42nd-overall pick in the 2023 Draft (originally acquired from the Kamloops Blazers on Jan. 8) and a 2025 fourth-round pick.

He’s the kind of high-character, competitive player we look for in our organization. We’re looking forward to working with him and welcoming him and his family to Everett.”

Chadwick, a Saskatoon native, earned a 23-9-1 record over 34 appearances for the Blades in 2022-23, registering a 2.61 goals-against average and .899 save percentage along the way. He also posted a 5-3-1 record in the postseason, including back-to-back elimination matchups in games 4 and 5 to begin a historic series comeback against the Red Deer Rebels spurring Saskatoon to the Eastern Conference Final. He turned in two shutouts over the course of the season, both featuring 21 saves against the Edmonton Oil Kings on Nov. 12 and Feb. 7.
As a rookie, Chadwick was 6-3-0 in 12 games played in 2021-22 with an .882 save percentage and a 3.71 goals-against average.
