EVT 6 – POR 2 (4-18-21): – The Everett Silvertips improved their perfection against the Portland Winterhawks by defeating their US Division rival by a score of 6-2, giving the club four wins in four matchups so far this season. Silvertips forward Ethan Regnier registered his first-career hat trick while blue liner Zach Ashton tallied a couple of assists. Goaltender Dustin Wolf picked up his 10th victory of the season after turning aside 37 shots.

1) HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF: Tips’ goaltender Dustin Wolf – the recipient of the WHL Goaltender of the Month award for March – ranks among the WHL leaders in the following categories: tied for 2nd in wins (10), 3rd in goals against average (1.83), 2nd in save percentage (0.939), 2nd in shutouts (3) … he has 23 career shutouts, moving into 2nd on the WHL and Silvertips all-time list, ahead of Leland Irving and Seattle’s Bryan Bridges. He is three behind the league record shared by former teammate Carter Hart and Vancouver’s Tyson Sexsmith. Wolf broke the team’s franchise record for longest shutout streak of 195:12 on Mar. 26th @ POR, surpassing Carter Hart in franchise history for longest stretch without allowing a goal.
2) THE DEFENSE NEVER RESTS: The Silvertips as a team hold the second-best goals against average mark in the WHL as the club has only given up 28 goals against in 14 contests. Defensive leaders Olen Zellweger and Gianni Fairbrother have impressive numbers on both ends of the score sheet halfway through the 2020-21 season. Zellweger has amassed 13 points (2g-11a) and a plus-5 rating while Fairbrother has recorded 14 points (1g-13a) to go along with a plus-3 rating.
3) FUN WITH FONSTAD: Team captain Cole Fonstad has recorded a point in six consecutive games and has found the back of the net in nine of his last 12 games overall. He now has 269 points for his WHL career and presently leads the club with 22 points (10g-12a) to go along with a stellar plus-12 mark.
