LAST TIME OUT:
EVT 1 – SEA 0 (OT) (3-2-19): Bryce Kindopp scored his second consecutive late game winner with 0.4 remaining to lift the Everett Silvertips to a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds, in WHL action before a sellout crowd of 8,387 on Saturday in downtown Everett. The Silvertips clinched home ice advantage in the first round of the WHL Playoffs with the win and reduced their magic number to three points for the U.S. Division title. If Portland loses on Sunday at Kelowna, the Silvertips can clinch their third straight division banner with a win Tuesday in Spokane or an OT/SO loss (combined with a Portland loss in regulation).
THIS DATE IN TIPS HISTORY:
MAR. 5, 2006: Torrie Wheat had the 12th hat trick in Tips history, a natural hat trick, and the Tips cruised past the Kelowna Rockets in a 4-1 victory in downtown Everett … Brady Calla tacked on a late third period goal … Wheat was named first star of the game … Leland Irving earned 29 saves for the win and second star honors … the Tips went 2-of-5 on the power play.
