Rymon’s goal came from the high slot 2:52 into play, his 16th of the season. After an extended break due to ice conditions, the Giants answered back just nine seconds into the resumption of play as Jaden Lipinski pulled Vancouver back to even.
Eric Jamieson restored the Silvertips’ lead moments later with his sixth of the year. Moments after drawing a major powerplay, Ben Hemmerling potted a goal on the man advantage for his ninth of the campaign. Hemmerling iced the game with an empty-netter with 50 seconds left to seal a 4-1 victory.
Tyler Palmer stopped 23 of 24 to pick up his 10th victory. Brett Mirwald turned aside 51 of 54 in the loss for Vancouver.
The Silvertips and Giants will rematch at Langley Events Centre tomorrow night at 7 p.m. for Vancouver’s Teddy Bear Toss game.
