GAME RECAP: Palmer stops 35 in 1-0 shutout of T-Birds
EVERETT, Wash. — Tyler Palmer stole the show and the win for the Silvertips, stymying the Seattle Thunderbirds for a 1-0 shutout in front of a capacity crowd in Everett Saturday night.
Beau Courtney scored the lone goal of the first period, burying a rebound for his seventh goal of the season.
Palmer stopped nine shots in the second period to keep the game. With the Thunderbirds applying all sorts of pressure in the third period, the Tips netminder held firm with 14 saves in the final frame, giving him 35 on the game and his first shutout as a Silvertip.
It is the fourth clean sheet of Palmer’s career, and the first time all season the Thunderbirds have been blanked.
Everett welcomed 8,249 fans through the gate- the first sell-out at Angel of the Winds Arena since Jan. 18, 2020.
