SERIES RECAP:
GAME 1 (EVT 4 – VIC 2, 3-24-17): Dominic Zwerger and Patrick Bajkov each bagged three points and Carter Hart turned in a 30 save effort to help guide the Everett Silvertips to a wire-to-wire victory, 4-2 over the Victoria Royals in Game 1 of the first round of the WHL Playoffs on Friday at XFINITY Arena … the Silvertips cruised out to a 4-0 lead by the second period, scoring twice on the power play while Zwerger helped the Tips pull ahead with back to back goals. Kevin Davis logged a goal and an assist. GAME 2 (VIC 4 – EVT 3, 3-25-17): Vladimir Bobylev’s goal with 4:59 to play in regulation broke a tie game and the Victoria Royals escaped the Everett Silvertips, 4-3 in Game 2 of the first round of the WHL Playoffs, tying the series before 4,196 fans at XFINITY Arena in downtown Everett … the Tips got a multi point game each from Dominic Zwerger and Patrick Bajkov, while the Silvertips buried two power play goals. Victoria broke an eight game winless skid dating back to regular season play and cashed in two power play goals as well. GAME 3 (EVT 2 – VIC 0, 3-28-17): Carter Hart made 25 saves for his second career playoff shutout and the Everett Silvertips furnished a pair of power play goals in the second period to take a 2-0 victory over the Victoria Royals in Game 3 of the opening round of the WHL Playoffs, before 4,790 fans at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Tuesday … the Silvertips seized a 2-1 lead in the series and home ice advantage again, leaning on the goals from Patrick Bajkov, a Nanaimo native who posted the sixth multi point game of his playoff career and Eetu Tuulola, who earned his first career WHL goal.

The Silvertips went 4-0-0-0 in four meeting with Victoria … all-time, the Silvertips are 27-13-3-3 in the series … their last meeting in Everett was Mar. 18 in a 5-2 Silvertips victory at XFINITY Arena … Victoria won all four games of the season series in 2015-16 … Dominic Zwerger led the season series with seven points in four games.

Goaltender Carter Hart – CHL Goaltender of the Year, first goaltender selected in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft … was named to the CHL/NHL Prospects Game in 2015-16 in Vancouver (Team Orr) … named Silvertips MVP for the 2015-16 season … during the month of November he was 6-1-2 and led the league with a 1.11 goals-against-average, in addition to a .959 save percentage and three shutouts … he is coming off CHL Goaltender of the Week honors, the WHL Goaltender of the Month and his second straight WHL Goaltender of the Week award .. he is 85-39-7-10 with 19 shutouts in 148 career WHL regular season appearances … he is seven shutouts shy of the WHL all-time shutout record (26), held by Tyson Sexsmith … Hart was named WHL Goaltender of the Year nominee in the Western Conference and a WHL First Team All-Star.

THE KEVIN CONSTANTINE FILE
Kevin Constantine is in his eighth season overall as head coach of the Silvertips, ranking as the club’s all-time leader in wins (326) and posting a record of 326-182-67 in his Everett career. All five of the Silvertips’ division titles have been achieved with Constantine as head coach, and this season led the Tips to their second best record in franchise history. He was the recipient of the Dunc McCallum Trophy (WHL Coach of the Year) in 2003-04, when the Silvertips broke nearly every WHL expansion record and became the first expansion team in WHL history to win a division title. Constantine has coached in the NHL over the course of seven seasons with San Jose, Pittsburgh and New Jersey, helping guide all three clubs to an appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
