Everett’s 2022-23 home opener set for Sep. 24
EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Silvertips’ home opener for their historic 20th season in the Western Hockey League is set to be played on Saturday, Sep. 24 at 6 p.m. PDT at Angel of the Winds Arena. Everett’s opponent that evening will be the Vancouver Giants.
The first home game in Silvertips franchise history was played on Oct. 4, 2003 at the then-named Everett Event Center. Everett lost 3-1 to the Prince George Cougars with 8,250 fans in attendance. Curtis Billsten scored the first Silvertips home goal that night, assisted by Jovan Matic and Cody Thoring. The Silvertips would finish the season 35-27-8-2, clinching their first U.S. Division title and stringing together a miraculous run to the WHL Championship series.
Everett is set to host a three-day pre-season showcase from Sep. 9 through Sep. 11. The showcase schedule at Angel of the Winds Arena is as follows (all times PDT):

Sunday, Sep. 11
Seattle Thunderbirds vs Tri-City Americans — 12:00 p.m.
Portland Winterhawks vs Everett Silvertips — 4:00 p.m.
