EVERETT, Wash. – Another game, another milestone for Carter Hart.
With Hart’s shutout this evening in a 5-0 Tips win over Vancouver, he has tied two records: most wins by a Silvertips goaltender with 107 and most shutouts by a WHL goaltender with 26.
Prior to this season, Carter Hart was already known as the best goaltender in the league, twice in row, but he has taken it to a whole other level this season.
He currently is number one with his goals against average (1.53) and his save percentage in the league (0.952). The goaltenders who trail Carter in those areas are not even close; it has been just incredible to watch. On top of his stellar performance for Everett, he also grabbed a gold medal with Canada for the World Junior Championships and was named MVP of the tournament.
“It’s definitely very humbling to tie the shutout lead but we had 50 shots on net and we only gave up 25 so I had an easier night,” said Hart. “I think from the loss we had last night, we really bounced back tonight; we were really hungry all night. Coming into today’s game we were looking for retaliation and a statement game.”
