Introducing our 2014 Summer Hockey Camps
EVERETT – The Everett Silvertips and Everett Youth Hockey have announced a series of summer hockey camps that cover a variety of ages, skill levels and positions for young players looking to improve their game.
The goal of Everett Silvertips hockey camps is to enhance player development through qualified, professional instruction and innovative, challenging programs in an enthusiastic and fun atmosphere. The camps will focus on hockey fundamentals, skills and systems while encouraging a strong work ethic, teamwork and sportsmanship. Each camp will feature professional instruction from Silvertips coaches as well as current and former WHL players.
The Silvertips Elite Development Camp in July is designed for players 16 and older with elite Midget, Junior, College, or Professional experience. Running in two separate, week-long sessions, the camp will focus on skating & offensive skill development as well as off-ice strength & conditioning training from Engineered Sports.
Our Hockey Day Camp (August 4-8) is designed for young players looking to master the basics (skating, stickhandling, shooting, passing, etc.) and build a foundation for success while learning team concepts and having fun! This camp will also include off-ice contests and games as well as dry-land training.
The Silvertips Shooting Clinic (August 11-15) will help develop proper technique and offer the necessary repetition to help players improve their ability to shoot and score! On-ice sessions will cover all types of shots (wrist shots, backhanders, slap shots, deflections, etc.), while off-ice classroom and video sessions highlight the ways players can put those shots to work in game situations.
Finally, our Summer Goaltending Camp (August 11-15) is presented by the Shane Clifford Goalie Schools. The camp will help goaltenders learn how to move correctly, in control of their movements, and with balance in a competitive and fun atmosphere. Participants will receive group and individual attention throughout the clinic while being taught the finer details of the position both on the ice and in classroom sessions.
Meanwhile, the EYH Hockey 101 Competition Camps (remaining sessions starting June 10 and August 5) are perfect for players who have just finished their first beginner season as well as those who are just starting out. The EYH Skill Builders Competition Camp, opening June 10, helps develop both skating and puck control with some of the leading hockey instructors in the region.
