Royals Sign Ryan Tamelin to WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement
The Victoria Royals have announced the signing of 2006-born goaltender Ryan Tamelin to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Hailing from Ivermere, BC, Tamelin brings plenty of size to the crease as he stands at 6’8” and 201 lbs.
The 17-year-old netminder is currently suiting up for the U18 Okanagan Prep Team (CSSHL). In six games this season, Tamelin has boasted a 6-0-0 record while showcasing a 1.00 GAA and a .961 save percentage. He has also recorded two shutouts this season.
His strong play last month earned him league wide recognition as he was named the CSSHL October Player of Month.
Tamelin spent a majority of the 2022-23 campaign with the U17 Okanagan Prep Team (CSSHL) where he played 19 games. During those games, Tamelin went 12-4-2 with a 2.35 GAA and .928 save percentage while adding two shutouts. He also suited up in one game with the Columbia Valley Rockies of the KIJHL.
Tamelin was originally selected 183rd overall in the ninth round of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft by the Spokane Chiefs
