Royals Extend Assistant Coach Morgan Klimchuk
Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria Royals announced today that the team has signed Assistant Coach Morgan Klimchuk to a multi-year contract extension.
Klimchuk joined the Royals prior to the 2022-23 season, having previously served as an assistant coach with the Edge U15 Prep team during the 2021-22 season after concluding his playing career.
“Morgan is an important member of our staff and plays a key role in the development of our players” said Royals’ General Manager Jake Heisinger. “He has shown his commitment to this organization through his dedication and hard work and we are excited to have him continue working with James (Patrick) to develop our team.”
Klimchuk was drafted in the first round, 28th overall by the Calgary Flames in 2013, and went on to spend five seasons in professional hockey. Klimchuk was drafted fifth overall in the first round by the Regina Pats in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft. He spent five seasons as a player in the WHL, accumulating 118 goals and 267 points in 261 games played between the Regina Pats and Brandon Wheat Kings.
