Recap: Royals (1) vs. Cougars (2) – December 28th, 2024
Victoria, B.C. – The Royals were back in action tonight to close their double-header against the Prince George Cougars at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre. After the Cougars edged out the Royals in a shootout last night, Prince George goalie Joshua Ravensbergen saved 37 of 38 shots from Victoria tonight. The Royals fell to the Cougars, 2–1.
Teydon Trembecky got the Royals on the board early, netting the lone goal of the first period just past the five-minute mark of the frame. Assists on Trembecky’s goal came from Cole Reschny and Keaton Verhoeff. The Royals held onto the one-goal lead after the first 20 minutes of play.
Hunter Laing scored to tie the game for the Cougars at 5:45 of the second period. Prince George pulled ahead at 9:06 into the frame when Aiden Foster found the back of the net on his way out of the penalty box after serving a two-minute roughing minor. The Cougars led the Royals 2–1 headed into the third period.
After a scoreless third period, the Royals fell to the Cougars 2-1.

The Royals will be back at the SOFMC again this Tuesday, December 31, to continue their slate of BC divisional matchups with a game against the Vancouver Giants at 2:05 p.m.. The team will then cross the water to meet the Giants once again for their first game of 2025 at the Langley Events Centre on Wednesday, January 1.
