Western Conference Final Shifts to Seattle
The Kelowna Rockets and Seattle Thunderbirds will renew action in the WHL Western Conference Championship this week as the series is now shifting to Seattle for games three and four on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Seattle jumped out to a 2-0 series lead on the weekend, winning two one-goal games at Prospera Place in Kelowna, beating the Rockets 2-1 on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday night.
“At this point our focus is to shift gears and make sure we win game three, we don’t have to look to far ahead, we just have to win game three,” said Rockets head coach Brad Ralph.
It’s not the first time the Rockets have been down 0-2 in a series this year as the Rockets dropped the first two games against Victoria in Round 2 of the WHL Playoffs, before coming back to win in seven games.
Despite being down in the series, Ralph said his team can get back into the series.
“We have to stay positive. Being down 2-0 in a playoff series is not a good thing but we have been through it before. We have to trust in what we are doing and make sure we come back with a big game.”
Game five in the series, if necessary, will be this Friday back in Kelowna.
