Hockey continues for D-men Bowey/Severson

The hockey season will continue for a pair of Kelowna Rockets defencemen as Damon Severson and Madison Bowey will join different teams with the Rockets out of the Western Hockey League playoffs.
Severson, 18, will join Albany of the American Hockey League as the farm team of the New Jersey Devils plays down the stretch of the American Hockey League playoffs while Bowey will join Team Canada at the World Under-18 Hockey Championships in Russia.
Severson was a 2012 second round draft pick of the New Jersey Devils and has already signed his first professional contract. In 71 regular season games with the Rockets this season Severson had 10 goals, 42 assists for 52 points and was also plus-43 on the season.
As for Bowey, the 17-year-old is eligible for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and was asked to join Team Canada at the World Under-18 Championships following the Rockets exit from the WHL playoffs.
In 69 games with the Rockets, Bowey had 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points and was a plus-41 on the season.
In addition to heading to Russia, Bowey was also listed this week as the 27th ranked prospect by International Scouting Services.
