Goulby with 3 as Rockets Blank Giants 5-0
The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Vancouver Giants 5-0 on Saturday night at Prospera Place, extending its home-ice winning streak to nine games.
Rookie goaltender Michael Herringer recorded his first Western Hockey League shut-out in the win, turning aside 29 shots in the win while Tyrell Goulbourne scored three times in the win, in front of 5,831 fans in Kelowna.
The win improved the Rockets record to 17-1-1-0 on the season and a perfect 9-0-0-0 at Prospera Place.
WHL goal scoring leader Rourke Chartier extended his league-high goal scoring streak to seven games with his 18th of the season while Justin Kirkland netted his eighth of the year.
The Rockets now begin a stretch of five straight games on the road beginning Tuesday in Spokane. Kelowna will then head to Prince George for a pair of games next weekend before a double-header in Victoria Nov. 18 and 19.
The Rockets next home games are Friday and Saturday Nov. 21 and 22 when they welcome the Portland Winterhawks to Prospera Place.
