Bowey, Chartier; Merkley Morrissey Named to All Star Teams
Four members of the Kelowna Rockets were named to WHL all star teams while several others were nominated for league awards, the WHL announced on Wednesday.
Rockets captain Madison Bowey and team MVP Rourke Chartier were named to the first all star team, while Nick Merkley and Josh Morrissey were named to the second all star team.
In terms of major league awards, players Joe Gatenby and Chartier along with head coach Dan Lambert and president/GM Bruce Hamilton were nominated for WHL awards and will represent the Western Conference at the WHL Awards banquet.
Gatenby was nominated as the Western Conference Scholastic Player of the Year, while Chartier is up for Most Sportsmanlike Player.
Rockets head coach Lambert is nominated as the WHL Western Conference Coach of the Year, after his first season at the helm for the Rockets.
Rockets president/GM Hamilton was nominated as the WHL Executive of the Year.
