Team Saskatchewan Hits the Ice for U16 Fall Camp
Wilcox/Regina, SK – The Saskatchewan Hockey Association (SHA) will be hosting its annual U16 Fall Camp from September 15-18, in Wilcox and Regina, Saskatchewan, this weekend. The event will feature the top 26 U16 players for Team Saskatchewan as they compete against three Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL) teams in an exhibition tournament. The tournament will bring together a premier collection of players from across the province, who are competing to represent Team Saskatchewan at the 2016 U16 Western Canada Challenge Cup. At the conclusion of the four day event in Wilcox and Regina, Team Saskatchewan will select its roster for the 2016 U16 Western Canada Challenge Cup on October 19-23 in Calgary, AB.
“The SaskFirst Program is a gateway to Hockey Canada’s High Performance Program which includes their National Teams such as the World Juniors. There is a long list of notable players who have gone through the Bantam SaskFirst Program which most recently includes – Haydn Fleury (Red Deer Rebels) and Rourke Chartier (Kelowna Rockets) who played on the Canadian World Junior Hockey Team as well as NHLers Brayden Schenn (Philadelpia Flyers) and Derrick Pouliot (Pittsburgh Penguins) to name a few.” – SHA.SK.ca
