Chilliwack Bantam International Challenge Cup
Chilliwack, BC – The Chilliwack Minor Hockey Association hosts the 31st Annual International Challenge Cup October 7-10, featuring 20 teams from across Western Canada and the United States, highlighted by a premier collection of top Bantam AAA prospects in one of the first major tournaments of the 2016/17 hockey calendar.
This year’s edition of the International Challenge Cup features a strong contingent of CSSHL teams, including Delta Academy, Edge School Mountaineers, Yale Academy Lions, Pursuit of Excellence, Shawnigan Lake School, and Okanagan Hockey Academy.
The Kamloops Jr. Blazers and host club Chilliwack Bruins kick off the weekend action on Friday, Oct 7 at 7:45AM at the Prospera Centre in Chilliwack, followed by Juan de Fuca Grizzlies taking on the Ridge Meadows Rustlers in other action at 8:15AM on a 20-game slate on the opening day of the tournament.
Each team will play a 3-game round robin schedule, with a playoff seeding format getting underway Saturday night leading into championship match ups on Thanksgiving Monday.
Delta Wild Bantam Prep was victorious in both 2015 and 2014 at this event.
