WHL Players Projected To Have Major Impact On Next Two NHL Drafts
Young Western Hockey League players work hard to transition to the major junior level and their hard work is paying off as many WHL players are drawing significant interest from NHL scouts and teams. Two draft rankings, for the 2019 NHL Draft and the 2020 NHL draft, released in the past two days shows just how much of an impact the WHL is projected to have on the next two NHL Drafts.
The Score released their 2019 NHL Draft rankings yesterday and four WHL players cracked the top 10 and eight were in the top 50. Those players were;
No.3 Kirby Dach, Saskatoon Blades
No.4 Bowen Byram, Vancouver Giants
No.6 Dylan Cozens, Lethbridge Hurricanes
No.9 Peyton Krebs, Kootenay Ice
No.18 Matthew Robertson, Edmonton Oil Kings
No.24 Nolan Foote, Kelowna Rockets
No.32 Sasha Mutala, Tri City Americans
No. Lassi Thomson, Kelowna Rockets
No.50 Dustin Wolf, Everett Silvertips
Craig Button also released his draft rankings but for the 2020 NHL draft. Three WHL players cracked the top 20. Those players were;
No.11 Seth Jarvis, Portland Winterhawks
No.14 Kaiden Guhle, Prince Albert Raiders
No.20 Jake Neighbours, Edmonton Oil Kings
