Cougars Place Crossley on WHL Waivers
The Prince George Cougars made a roster this week, announcing they’ve placed defenceman Austin Crossley on Western Hockey League (WHL) waivers. The 20-year-old defenceman has since cleared waivers and is now a free agent.
Crossley spent two and a half seasons with the Cougars since being acquired from the Prince Albert Raiders in January 2018. In 110 career regular season games with Prince George, the Fort St. John, BC product tallied 16 points (7g, 9a) and compiled 163 penalty-minutes. In his WHL career, split between the Cougars and Raiders, he played in 159 regular season games, picking up 21 points (8g, 13a) to go along with 342 penalty-minutes.
Crossley was a team-first, hard-nosed defenceman for the Cougars.
With Crossley’s waiver clearance, the Cougars’ roster now sits at 23: two goaltenders, seven defencemen, and 14 forwards.
