Prince George, BC – Even though the Wild Rose province of Alberta left a thorn in the Cougars side this weekend and season, the Cats will look for a split of their four game road trip Wednesday in Kelowna.

After a come-from-behind 4-3 win in Edmonton Wednesday, the Cougars were on the wrong end of 7-2 and 5-2 scores, respectively, in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.  Those two losses not only ended Prince George’s three game win streak, but put the Cougars record in Alberta at 2-6-0-0 for 2008-09, with both wins coming over the Oil Kings.

Now the Cougars are getting set for their eighth of nine meetings with the Kelowna Rockets Wednesday and the Cougar’s fortunes against their division rivals have reversed in recent games.  After dropping 9 straight to the Rockets, including the first four this season, the Cougars have won the last three, including a 4-3 decision at Prospera Place January 10.  That was followed by a home sweep of the Rockets January 16 and 17th.  The Rockets outscored the Cougars 23-7 in the first four head-to-head clashes, but the Cats have outscored the Rockets 12-7 in the past three get-togethers and have not allowed a power play goal to one of the league’s top five units over that time.
