PRINCE GEORGE, BC– The Prince George Cougars are pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Linder as the team’s Athletic Trainer/Equipment Manager. Chris, who hails from West Vancouver, BC, is a Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT) with significant experience coaching hockey specific strength and conditioning programs.
Chris earned a BSc in Exercise Science while attending Concordia University in Montreal.
“We are very happy to add Chris to our staff. His qualifications speak for themselves and he has a great deal of experience dealing with the needs of Junior hockey player”, states Cougars GM, Dallas Thompson.
Chris will be arriving in Prince George in early August.
In other news, the Cougars have announced that Brent Arsenault will be returning to the team as a part-time assistant coach.
“Brent was an integral part to our success last season and helped us out in many ways”, says Thompson.
Brent is a principal at St. Mary’s Catholic School and will continue to serve in the same role as he did with the Cougars last season.
The Cougars have also added Dan De Palma as the team’s Goaltending Coach. Dan, a product of Prince George, BC, currently calls Kamloops, BC home. This past season Dan was the team’s Kamloops and area Scout. Dan will continue this role and will also take on the responsibility of working with, and coaching, the Cougar netminders.
“Dan is a great communicator who will have a noteworthy impact on our goalies. With Dan’s proximity to our away games, he will be able to be in contact with, and watch, our goalies on a regular basis. Dan will also be making frequent trips to Prince George to work with our goaltenders throughout the season”, finishes Thompson.
