Cougars Adopt-a-School Continues for Third Season
Thanks to generous sponsor support students at four local elementary schools and patients on the Paediatrics floor at the University Hospital of Northern BC have the opportunity to attend Cougars games with their families throughout the 2011/2012 season. In the past week Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipelines and PCL Construction have joined IRL Supplies and the Prince George Free Press as sponsors of the initiative.
Aboriginal Choice School, Harwin Elementary, Pinewood Elementary and Spruceland Traditional School are all sponsored through the program which allows students to earn a ticket for themselves and a parent by displaying positive behaviour. The tickets are often used to support programs already active in the elementary schools.
Tickets designated to the Paediatrics floor by PCL Construction will be used primarily by families with financial restraints, long-term patients and families from out of town.
“The Prince George Cougars and our sponsors recognize the importance of giving back to the community in which we do business,” said Cougars Vice President Brandi Brodsky. “We are very proud to partner with IRL Supplies, Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipelines, PCL Construction and the Prince George Free Press to make it possible for more children and their families to attend our games.”
Any local elementary school is eligible to be selected, provided that school is not already matched with a sponsor. The Cougars encourage any business interested in participating in Adopt-a-School to contact the Cougars office at 250-561-0783.
