The Prince George Cougars accept billet applications year-round, so if billeting is something you have been thinking about, we would love to hear from you!
A few of the basics we expect from our billet families include:
- A safe, welcoming home environment, preferably within a 15 min. drive to the CN Centre
- Private bed and bathroom for our player(s), ideally separate from the main floor/family bedrooms (i.e. basement is preferred – rest is extremely important to our players and the ability to get a good night’s sleep is of utmost importance)
- Non-smoking home
- Providing transportation at any point is NOT a requirement. Players will have vehicles or will receive rides from their teammates.
In exchange, our billet families are compensated financially on a monthly basis, in addition to every household member receiving Season Memberships.
Be warned that billeting hockey players is not a “money maker” as these athletes have been known to eat non-stop! Having said that, we have seen life-long friendships develop between players and their billet families which is perhaps the biggest, unexpected reward a billet family can receive!
