JACKSON LEPPARD INVITED TO HOCKEY CANADA’S U-18 SUMMER SELECTION CAMP
Cougars forward Jackson Leppard (2000 – North Vancouver, B.C.) is one of 44 players invited to attend Hockey Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Selection Camp taking place in Calgary, AB in late July. Approximately half of the invitees will go on the represent Canada during the 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament which begins August 2nd in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Originally selected by the Cougars with the eighth overall pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft, Leppard (6’2”, 194 pounds) is coming off a rookie season where he scored twice and added two assists and 22 penalty minutes in 35 games. He appeared in two of the Cougars six playoff games and also represented Canada during the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. He is eligible for the 2018 NHL Draft.
During his 2015-16 Midget season, he posted 14 goals and 17 assists and 32 penalty minutes in 34 games with the BCMML’s Vancouver Northwest Giants. During his final bantam season in 2014-15, he posted 46 goals, 43 assists and 124 penalty minutes with the North Shore Winter Club Winterhawks.
