Chiefs Prospect Grady Lane Named to Team Manitoba
Spokane Chiefs prospect Grady Lane has been named to Team Manitoba for the 2019 Canada Winter Games, as announced by Hockey Manitoba on Oct. 19. Lane was the Chiefs’ eighth round (156th overall) pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.
A 6-foot forward from Virden, Man., Lane scored 22 goals and 20 assists for 42 points for the Southwest Cougars of the Winnipeg Bantam AAA league last season, adding 99 penalty minutes. This year with the Cougars’ midget AAA team, he has recorded three goals and two assists for five points in 15 games played.
Lane joins Graham Sward (BC), Owen MacNeil (AB), Logan Cox (SK) and Blake Swetlikoff (SK) as Chiefs prospects set to compete in the 2019 Canada Winter Games. The event will take place in Red Deer, Alta. from Feb. 14-27, with the hockey tournament beginning Feb. 16. [related_links]
