Chiefs acquire 2025 5th, 2026 2nd-round picks from Tri-City in exchange for F Gudelj
Spokane, Wash. — The Spokane Chiefs have acquired a fifth-round pick in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft, as well as a second-round pick in the 2026 draft, from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for forward Jake Gudelj (2005).
“With this trade, it strengthens or draft picks in quality and quantity that will enable us to be aggressive in adding an impact player to our roster this season,” said Chiefs General Manager Matt Bardsley. “We thank Jake for his time in Spokane and wish him all the best in Tri-City.”
Gudelj played 119 games for Spokane, tallying 22 total points on 11 goals and 11 assists, including career highs in the 2022-23 season (8G-8A). The winger was named the Chiefs’ Scholastic Player of the Year each of his two seasons with the team.
The Vancouver, B.C. native was originally the Chiefs’ fourth-round pick (84th overall) in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
With the acquisition of the 2nd-round pick, Spokane now holds 20 selections in the first four rounds over the next three drafts.
