Detroit HoneyBaked defeated the Toronto Jr. Canadiens 3-1 to be crowned 2026 OHL Cup champions.

TORONTO - For the first time in OHL Cup history, an American-based team has come away as champions. Detroit HoneyBaked outlasted the Toronto Jr. Canadiens 3-1 to come out on top at the annual showcase of OHL Draft eligible talent, closing out the event with a perfect 7-0 record.

A big Saturday afternoon crowd took in the action at Mattamy Athletic Centre, formerly Maple Leaf Gardens in downtown Toronto as tournament MVP Austin Hall lit the lamp twice for HoneyBaked, scoring the deciding goal on a rebound four minutes into the third period.

It's the latest in a series of momentous victories for HoneyBaked, who emerged as Michigan state champions last month and also won the Whitby International Silver Stick tournament back in November.

"Words can't describe it," said Hall, who led the OHL Cup in scoring with 14 points. "First American team to do it - it's history.

"We've been a third period team all year long, coming back from behind and just pushing and having grit. Our saying is 'grittiness,' we just love to play hockey."

Reid Fallon opened the scoring with his first of the tournament 5:08 into the first period with assists from Max Mitchell and Max Lappan. HoneyBaked led 1-0 after a tight-checking first period.

The Jr. Canadiens drew even on a goal from Jackson Zinkie 1:29 into the second as he was the beneficiary of a hard net drive from blueliner Anthony Peragine who rushed down the wing.

Knotted at one to start the third, HoneyBaked came up with the decisive goal-ahead goal as Hall put-home a rebound off Ivan Belikov's initial point shot.

Hall cashed-in on the empty net for his seventh goal of the showcase with 21 seconds to go, sealing the win for HoneyBaked to make OHL Cup history.

HoneyBaked outshot the Jr. Canadiens 28-24 as goaltender Carter Nash turned in 23 saves to improve to 5-0 in the tournament.

"I'm so proud of the boys, they've worked hard for this and it's been one of our goals since the start of the season," said HoneyBaked Head Coach Matthew Romaniski.

"We were serious about coming and winning this. It was good to come up here and finish out the year the right way. The boys have been focused and dedicated. I think we did a pretty good job this week."

OHL Commissioner Bryan Crawford was on-hand to present the OHL Cup to Detroit HoneyBaked captain Max Lappan.

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens come away as silver medalists with a tournament record of 6-1, appearing in the OHL Cup Championship Final for the third time in the last four years. Brayden Grima and Kash Kwajah finish tied for second in OHL Cup scoring with 13 points respectively.

Detroit HoneyBaked emerged victorious from a field of 25 teams, the most the OHL Cup has featured in its 23-year history. The event was once again hosted in partnership with the Greater Toronto Hockey League.

Final: 4 (JRC) – 1 (TPH)The Toronto Jr. Canadiens secured their spot in the OHL Cup semi-finals with a 4-1 victory over TPH Academy in quarter-final action.

TPH opened the scoring just minutes into the first period, as Ethan Mears (1) found the back of the net to give his team the early 1-0 lead.

JRC responded in the second period and took control of the game in a quick burst. Kash Kwajah (3) evened the score on the power play before Kade O’Rourke (3) followed it up just moments later, also on the man advantage, to give Toronto their first lead of the game.

The momentum continued to swing in JRC’s favour as Jude Litman (1) added an insurance marker later in the frame, extending the lead to 3-1 heading into the third period.

Toronto would put the game out of reach early in the final frame, as Alessandro Cadorin (2) scored just 10 seconds into the period to make it 4-1.

“I wouldn’t say it's confidence as much as it is trust in one another, which makes us feel comfortable on the ice,” said Kash Kwajah. “I know we’re going to be bringing our best effort tonight so we can advance to the finals.”

From there, the Jr. Canadiens shut things down defensively to secure the win and punch their ticket to the semi-finals.

“I’m expecting them to bring their best, as will we, so we will have to see who comes out on top,” Kwajah added.

With the victory, the Jr. Canadiens will face Upper Canada College at 8:00 p.m. tonight in the semi-finals.

Don Mills Flyers vs Upper Canada College Blues

Final: 4 (UCC) - 2 (DMF)

A strong first period from the Upper Canada College Blues helped propel them to a 4-2 victory over the Don Mills Flyers in the 2026 OHL Cup quarter-finals.

“We have the confidence to [win close games],” explained UCC forward Bohdan Gorenstein, “we’ve been in these situations all year long, even against these guys. We live for those types of games where it’s close and we know we’ll get the job done.”

It was Cole Coristine (2) of Don Mills who opened the scoring early in the first period to get the Flyers off to a good start. Max Fransen (2) answered right back for UCC to even the game 1-1 and get the ball rolling for his team. That momentum continued for the Blues when Cammie List (2) added another just 42 seconds later. With under a minute to go in the first period Logan Prud’Homme (5) netted his fifth of the tournament to make it a 3-1 at the intermission.

Don Mills needed a good start to the third period and that’s exactly what they got, taking advantage of an early powerplay with Gavin Godick (2) scoring to bring his team within one. Fans moved to the edge of their seats late in the game when UCC’s Jay Nimchonok got called for hooking to send Don Mills to the powerplay again with a chance to tie the game. Instead, it was UCC’s Bohdan Gorenstein (5) with a short handed goal that gave the Blues enough breathing room to wrap up the win.

“Throughout the tournament me and Norris have gotten a couple of those and I saw that he had the chance to go with the puck so I followed him and he sent it across,” said Gorenstein, “it was a surreal feeling.”

London Jr. Knights vs. Detroit Little Caesars

Final: 8 (LDN) – 6 (DLC)

The London Jr. Knights secured their spot in the OHL Cup semi-finals with an 8-6 victory over the highly-ranked Detroit Little Caesars in a fast-paced, back-and-forth quarter-final matchup.

Detroit opened the scoring early in the first period, as Benjamin Slavick (3) gave Little Caesars the early lead. London responded later in the frame with Drew Bate (6) tying the game, but Detroit quickly regained the lead through Alexander Smidt (1) to make it 2-1.

The Jr. Knights answered with a strong push to close out the period, as Quinn Roberts (3) scored on the power play to even things up. Jake Readings (1) then gave London their first lead of the game early in the second period.

Detroit pulled even once again with Aiden Kelly (4), but Bate (7) converted on a penalty shot to restore London’s advantage and net his second of the game. The Jr. Knights continued to build momentum, as Ryan Beaulieu (3) extended the lead to 5-3.

But Detroit refused to go away, as Colin Kennedy (4) cut the deficit just seconds into the third period. London answered once again through Ryan Salmoni (5), but Detroit kept pressing as Aiden Kelly (5) and Colin Kennedy (5) struck in quick succession to tie the game at six.

With the pressure mounting, Cameron Jolicœur (3) delivered the game-winning goal for London midway through the third period. From there, Graham Littlejohn (3) added an empty-netter late to secure the high-scoring 8-6 victory.

With the win, the Jr. Knights become the second team to punch their ticket to the semi-finals. They will face Detroit HoneyBaked at 6:00 p.m. tonight.

The first quarter-final of the 2026 OHL Cup saw Detroit Honeybaked take down the Markham Majors by a score of 8-3. Honeybaked led for 44:17 of the 45:00 game.

“We were just working hard and getting in front of the net, “ said Honeybaked’s Easton Ozark after the win, “we’re getting shots through and they’re going in.”

The scoring started eleven seconds into the game with a goal by Blake Stephens (1). Near the midway mark of the period Joseph Fenwick (3) scored for Markham to tie the game. The tie didn’t last long as Anders Ogger (2) scored just 32 seconds later to give Honeybaked the 2-1 lead that they carried into the first intermission.

The Detroit based team scored four goals on nine shots in the second period and eventually skated away with the 8-3 victory. Ozark had a pretty simple plan for in between games, “get a good nap in, get some food and come back”.

The Niagara North Stars closed out their OHL Cup campaign with a 6-3 victory over the Eastern Ontario Wild, outshooting them 28-19. Despite the win, neither team advanced to the quarter-finals.

Niagara opened the scoring in the first period, as Kaelen Ruddy (2) capitalized on the power play to give the Stars the early lead.

The Stars built on that momentum in the second, with Kohen Chrastina (2) doubling the advantage before Sam Lagrotteria (2) added another to make it 3-0 heading into the third.

Eastern Ontario pushed back in the final frame, with Lawson McCann (1) getting the Wild on the board early. Nathan Hewitt (2) responded for Niagara to restore the three-goal cushion, but the Wild continued to battle.

The York Simcoe Express (1-2-1-0) and Hill Academy (1-0-1-2) went back and forth all game long and played to a 5-5 tie to wrap up their 2026 OHL Cup tournaments. Neither team held a lead larger than one goal and this was just the second tie of the entire tournament.

The game was tied going into the third period with the Hill taking a lead on a goal by Gabriel Barakat (1). Hill responded on a tally by Cooper Niquet (2). Evan Bannister and the Credit River Capitals (2-2-0-0) ended their 2026 OHL Cup with a statement 9-2 win over the Upper Canada Cyclones on Wednesday night.

“We were just saying to enjoy the last day,” said Bannister, the Capitals Captain, “just because we were out of the tournament doesn’t mean we’re not going to compete, I think everyone just wanted to have fun and take in the last day that we had to play minor hockey.’

The first period had the makings of a good game and got started with Bannister (2) kicking off his great night with a goal just 41 seconds in. Cyclones forward Isaya Papineau (2) tied the game a few minutes later with a powerplay goal. Bannister (3) restored the Capitals lead briefly until Julian Melo (2) capitalized on a penalty shot for UPCC.

Credit River exploded for five goals in the middle frame and added a couple more in the final frame en route to a 9-2 win and a great send off to their 2025/26 campaign that was highlighted by an OMHA Championship in the middle of March.

“I’m just very proud of my team, the emotions are coming in because it’s our last minor hockey game,” said Bannister, “it’s a sad day but I also think it’s a good thing because I made so many memories with these guys… they’re brothers to me, I’m just so proud of how far we came.”

Credit River won both of their games on the final day to bring their record to an even 2-2-0-0. The HEO regular season champion Upper Canada Cyclones finished 0-4-0-0.

Markham managed to break the shutout late in regulation, with Peter Cortese (1) getting the Majors on the board.

However, Detroit answered right back, as Colin Kennedy (3) rounded out the scoring to secure the 6-1 victory.

“We've been playing great. We just have to keep the foot on the gas and just go from there,” Kelly added. “Just do what our team does best – score goals, get pucks deep, have a great forecheck and just win.”

Quinte Red Devils vs Upper Canada College Blues

Final: 6 (UCC) - 1 (QRD)

With a 6-1 win over the Quinte Red Devils (2-2-0-0) the Upper Canada College Blues (4-0-0-0) finish the 2026 OHL Cup round robin as one of just four teams to go undefeated.

The stakes were high for the final round robin game in the Nash Division with the winner claiming top spot with an automatic berth into Thursday’s quarter finals.

Quinte opened up the scoring in the first period with a goal by Andrew Laurin (1). They held the lead for nearly six minutes before UCC tied the game on a goal by Logan Prud’Homme (2). UCC unloaded 17 shots in the second period and were able to build up a 4-1 lead with a goal by Cammie List (1) and two from Prud’Homme (4) who completed the hattrick. Christian Del Buono (2) and Damian Norris (2) added a couple in the third period to make it a 6-1 final.

This was largest margin of victory for the Blues in the round robin and a bit of a relief for the team after going to overtime earlier this morning, “I thought it was good,” said UCC Captain Max Fransen, “Obviously, just trying to play the same way every game and see what happens, whether we’re down or we’re up.”

Upper Canada College now has to wait for the round robin to conclude to see their quarter final opponent, “It’s going to be exciting, should be fun with the higher stakes,” said Fransen.

Huron Perth Lakers vs Detroit Honeybaked

Final: 4 (HB) - 1 (HPL)

Detroit Honeybaked (4-0-0-0) wrapped up an undefeated round robin with a 4-1 victory over the Huron Perth Lakers (0-4-0-0) on Wednesday afternoon.

Entering the game, Honeybaked had already clinched first place in the Shanahan division via the head-to-head tiebreaker versus Markham. Obviously a win was important to carry this win streak and the momentum into Thursday’s quarter final.

Huron Perth’s Evan Miller (3) scored at the 6:06 mark of the first period to give his team the lead. It was a lead which they held until late in the second period when Honeybaked’s Blake Stephens (2) scored on the powerplay to tie the game. This would be the first of four unanswered for the Detroit club as his goal was followed by a marker from Easton Dozark (2), Anders Ogger (1) and Cash McElmurry (3).

“I think we’ve been fore-checking really hard, “said Dozark, “we’re working really hard trying to find our groove…[we’re] really confident, we have a good squad.”

The Don Mills Flyers put together a commanding offensive performance, defeating the Thunder Bay Kings 9-1 while outshooting them 50-8 in their final round-robin match of the tournament, boosting their goal differential as they push to stay in the quarter-final race.

“I think we played well,” said Cole Coristine. “We played connected, but could have put a couple more in. Now we’ll have to wait and see how the other games go.”

Don Mills came out flying in the opening period, with Ayden Huisman (2) opening the scoring early. Luca Civille (3) followed with what would stand as the game-winning goal, before Coristine (2) added another on the power play to make it 3-0 after one.

The Flyers continued to build their lead in the second period, as Gavin Murphy (2) extended the advantage early. Gavin Godick (1) capped off the period with a power-play marker, giving Don Mills a 7-0 lead heading into the third.

Final: 4 (APR) - 2 (SCP)

The Ajax-Pickering Raiders (1-3-0-0) who got into the 2026 OHL Cup via a thrilling triple overtime win on Monday morning, wrapped up their tournament with a 4-2 win over the Sun County Panthers (0-3-1-0).

“We didn’t have a great start to the round robin,” said Raiders forward and assistant captain Shea Huinink, “but it was good to end off on a win because if you win the last game of your year you’re supposed to be a champion so we’ll take it as a good thing.”

By the midway mark of the game the Raiders had built up a 3-0 lead on goals by Huinink (2), Jean-Luc Moreau-Hernandez (1) and William Knights (1). Before the game got away from them, Sun County was able to capitalize on a couple powerplay advantages with goals by Colton Branovacki (1) and Dylan Naes (1) to make it a 3-2 game. Early in the third period, Matthew Taylor (1) added an insurance tally for Ajax-Pickering as they rode the 4-2 lead until the final buzzer.

“We didn’t really have a great OMHA’s so we knew we were going to have a tough job getting in through the wildcard,” explained Huinink,” our big win in triple overtime gave us so much energy and let everybody else see us… we wanted to make a bunch of noise.”

A goal in the first period by Team NOHA’s Logan Watson (1) was the lone one on the board until late in the game when both teams got into penalty trouble resulting in limited five-on-five hockey. Felix Sapay (1) added a powerplay goal for Team NOHA with 6:08 remaining in the game to make it a 2-0 game. The 99ers broke the shutout bid for Phoenix Bell on a powerplay goal by Emry Lowe (4) who connected on a one-timer from the right side circle. “I think it was great [to win]... especially since we started off the tournament with a loss,” said Lucas Enwright. “It was a big net positive for the team.”

London came out flying in the first period, with Ryan Salmoni (4) opening the scoring on the power play. Lucas Enwright (3) followed shortly after, netting what would stand as the game-winning goal to give the Jr. Knights a 2-0 lead.

Barrie responded midway through the frame, as Jack Lee (2) capitalized on the power play to cut the deficit to one. However, London quickly restored their two-goal cushion, with Enwright adding his second of the game before the end of the period.

After a scoreless middle frame, the Jr. Knights took full control in the third. Cameron Jolicœur (2) struck twice early in the period, before Drew Bates (5) extended the lead on the power play. The Toronto Jr. Canadiens (4-0-0-0) completed a perfect round robin with a 5-0 win over the Eastern Ontario Wild (2-1-0-0).

After a first period goal by Cooper Ross (1) the Jr. Canadiens pulled away in the middle frame with a pair of goals by Kash Kwajah (2) and one by Alessandro Cadorin (1). The game featured just one penalty, coming against the Wild, and Toronto made quick work on the powerplay with a goal by Kade O’Rourke just ten seconds into the man advantage. Zidane Jasey stopped all 17 shots he faced for a shutout in his first game of the tournament.

The Jr. Canadiens have posted back-to-back shutouts and have gone 98:01 of gameplay since allowing their last goal, “It’s a big stage, everyone’s throwing their body on the line and committing to playing a team game,” said defenceman Cooper Ross, “We had a tough finish in our league playoffs so everyone is buying in defensively and that’s translating to offence.”

Toronto will have to wait for the rest of the round robin games to conclude before seeing who their quarterfinal opponent is, “We have to keep it going, commit to structure, keep playing the same way,” said Ross, “we’ve been pretty good so far and we should hopefully keep it rolling into the playoff round.”

Michael Warner scored the overtime winner on Wednesday afternoon to give the Toronto Marlboros (3-1-0-0) a 3-2 win over Hill Academy (1-0-0-2).

The teams traded goals in the opening fifteen minutes with Michael Pacek (2) scoring for Toronto and Xavier Carroll (1) tallying one for Hill. There were a combined eighteen shots in the second period but none of them found the back of the net.

Late in the third period Mason Quinn (1) gave the Marlboros the lead with just 2:55 to go. With the clock winding down on Hill Academy, the puck trickled to an unguarded Tanner Adams (5) who tapped the puck in from just beside the net to tie the game with 15 seconds remaining putting Hill into their second straight overtime game.

In the extra stanza, Michael Warner (2) fired a shot past the glove of Matteo Orlando to give Toronto the 3-2 OT win, “[Preston] Hebert slid the puck to [Jaden Licastro], he slid it to me, I cut in the middle and I put it right off the post and in,” explained Warner.

Both teams needed a win to have any chance of advancing to Thursday’s quarterfinals, “I knew we were going to win it, we all had that confidence,” explained Warner.

The Marlboros finish round robin play with a 3-1-0-0 record and will have to wait until the conclusion of Wednesday’s game to determine if they move on. Upper Canada College entered the game looking to maintain their perfect record and Bohdan Gorenstein (3) got things started with a goal just 3:29 into the game. The Kings found themselves on the penalty kill late in the period but that didn’t stop Jaxson Menary (1) as he scored shorthanded to tie the game 1-1.

After Gianluca MacLure (1) scored to give the Kings the lead, UCC responded with a shorthanded goal of their own courtesy of Bohdan Gorenstein’s (2) second of the game. Just 31 seconds later, while still on the man advantage, Presley Allain (1) put Vaughan back on top.

Similar to their first game of the tournament versus Brantford, UCC found themselves down a goal late in the game. This time it was Christian Del Buono (1) tying the game and sending it to overtime, “Games not over until it’s over,” said Logan Prud’Homme, “I don’t think there’s a team that can play with us in the late minutes when we’re buzzing, we trust that we’re going to come out on top in the end.

In the extra frame it was Prud’Homme himself that scored the winner to keep UCC undefeated, “I got the puck with speed, so I was really just thinking of getting in the zone to try and set up,” he explained, ”but then I think hockey instincts just take over. I saw two guys come at me, I had speed and they didn’t so I beat them and tried to go far side on the goalie. He did a good job staying with me so I tucked it five-hole.”

Credit River goaltender Joaquin Roberto provided the Capitals with two periods of shutout hockey which was enough time for his team to build up a 4-0 lead on goals by Sawyer Burness (2), Ben Legros (1), Jonah Tagliarino (1) and Evan Bannister (1).

Tagliarino (2) scored another in the third period while Ottawa’s Alexandre Saulnier (6) netted a pair of goals trying to get his team back in it but the deficit was too much as the Capitals picked up their first of the tournament by a score of 5-2, “It feels good, we’ve been working all season for this tournament and it feels good to finally get rewarded,” said Tagliarino, “after the OMHA’s we felt really confident.”

TPH Academy vs. Don Mills Flyers

Final: 6 (TPH) – 3 (DMF)

TPH Academy secured a must-win 6-3 victory over the Don Mills Flyers, using a strong third period to pull away and seal the win.

“Game went well. We got off to a hot start, but they came back towards the start of the third,” said Quinn Kaiser. “Then we really put our foot down and went up 5-3 with about eight minutes left, and then we just played solid, team hockey from there.”

TPH opened the scoring in the first period, as Kaiser (5) found the back of the net to give his team an early lead. Christopher Pinko (2) followed shortly after, doubling the advantage to make it 2-0 heading into the intermission.

Don Mills responded in the second period, with Brady Nash (3) striking shorthanded to get the Flyers on the board. However, TPH answered back, as Mason Gabler (2) restored the two-goal lead on the power play.

The momentum carried into the third, where Maksym McCabe (2) scored what would stand as the game-winning goal early in the frame.

Don Mills continued to push, with goals from Declan McNally (1) and Ayden Huisman (1) cutting into the deficit, but TPH held their ground.

Kaiser added his second of the game late in regulation, while Quincy Torrez (1) sealed the win with an empty-net marker.

In the final minutes, TPH was forced to defend a 6-on-4 situation but came up with a key penalty kill to preserve their lead and close out the victory.

“We’ve had determination all week. We’re a new team that just got together, but I feel like we’ve gelled really well,” Kaiser added. “We've played that team hockey, that team brand, and we're just really excited to see what's next for us.”

Leo Hendriks’ (1) powerplay goal late in the first period was all the HEO Champions would need to get by the Raiders on Day 2 of the 2026 OHL Cup.

“There was a lot of powerplays and penalty kills this game, so there wasn’t many goals and it came down to mine”, said Hendriks, “I got a good pass with some good net front [pressence], so I decided to shoot it… I picked the corner and it felt good”.

The Raiders pulled their goalie late in the game to try and get the equalizer but Tristan Gendron-Steele (1) scored into the empty net with 37 seconds left to give the Wild the 2-0 win. When asked about what it’s like to play in close games Hendriks said “It’s super exciting. There’s a lot of people in the stands so it makes it even better… we have a lot of eyes on us so it’s exciting, it’s stressful, but it feels good.”

The Ajax-Pickering Raiders are back in action tonight at 7:30pm versus the Niagara North Stars while the Eastern Ontario Wild are back on the ice tomorrow at 11:45am versus the Toronto Jr Canadiens.

The Don Mills Flyers (2-0-0-0) battled to another one-goal victory to stay undefeated at the 2026 OHL Cup with a 3-2 win over the Barrie Jr. Colts (0-2-0-0).

Ty Civello (1) opened the scoring for the Flyers just 3:41 into the game but Barrie responded late in the period with goals by Cameron Hogg (1) and John Kanyo (1) in a 40 second span.

An early third period powerplay for the Flyers provided them with an opportunity to tie the game at two and that's exactly what they did with a goal by Remi Flikweert (1). The game felt destined for overtime but Don Mills had no intention of letting it go that far as Ty Civello (2) fired his second of the game with just 2:08 left to give his team the lead and ultimately the win.

“It’s nerve-wracking, but I told the boys, just keep working, keep blocking shots and put your body on the line. Credit River Capitals vs Detroit Little Caesars

Final: 3 (DLC) - 1 (CRC)

Detroit Little Caesars got off to a good start at the 2026 OHL Cup with a 3-1 victory over the OMHA Champion Credit River Capitals.

“We don’t want to be using our legs too much, we have a lot of hockey to play this week. Try to simplify everything, don’t try to do too much,” said Little Caesars forward Aiden Kelly.

Samuel Nowlan (1) opened the scoring just 4:45 into the game with Kelly (1) adding to the lead seven minutes later. Credit River had a few surges of offence in the third period and were able to score off a deflection with 11:32 left but the goal was immediately waved off due to a high stick. They didn’t let that stop them as Sawyer Burness (1) capitalized on a 2-on-1 to get the Capitals officially on the board with 7:20 remaining.

Another late push by the Capitals resulted in a few shots off the post but nothing else in the back of the net. Benjamin Slavick (1) added an empty net goal to secure the win for Little Caesars.

“I was happy, the boys were putting their bodies on the line,” said Kelly after the game, “Troy [Falbo], our goalie, played phenomenal and I think we just have to keep it going.

It’s a quick turnaround for Detroit Little Caesars as they take on the Ottawa Jr 67’s at 5:30pm. Final: 4 (UCC) – 1 (NOHA)

Upper Canada College (2-0-0-0) delivered another strong performance, earning a 4-1 win over Team NOHA (0-2-0-0), outshooting their opponents 34-16.

“It’s been a good team effort. I wouldn’t be able to put up these points without my teammates,” said Cole Guizzetti following his three-goal performance.

UCC opened the scoring late in the first period, as Damian Norris (1) found the back of the net on the power play to give the Blues the early lead.

Guizzetti (3) added to the advantage shortly after, scoring his first of the game before striking again in the second period with a shorthanded marker that would stand as the game-winner.

He continued his standout performance into the third period, completing the hat trick to extend the Blues’ lead to 4-0.

Team NOHA broke through late in regulation, as Tayden Smith (1) scored on the power play to get his side on the board, but that would be as close as they would come.

Final: 7 (MAJ) - 0 (UPCC)

The GTHL’s Markham Majors continue to roll as they shutout the Upper Canada Cyclones 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon. Markham has now gone 91:25 of game time without allowing a goal because of back-to-back shutouts by Cohen O’Neill and Dylan Sack, “The team keeps playing great behind me and Cohen [O’Neill], we’re playing well together, back to back shutouts,” said Sack, “we’re limiting their opportunities and I have a lot of confidence in the back end and even the forwards, covering for the defence when they pinch, it’s amazing.”

Dacey Dupuis (1) and Ryder Nobes (4) had goals in the opening period for Markham. They kept pushing in the middle frame with goals by Lucas Cranney (1), Ryder Nobes (5) and Jack Samek (1). Nobes (6) completed the hattrick in the third period while Peter Cortese (1) added one of his own to make the final 7-0.

Final: 4 (YSE) - 1 (HPL)

In a game that featured two teams searching for their first win of the week the OMHA Finalist York Simcoe Express picked up an important 4-1 win over the Huron Perth Lakers.

York Simcoe got great goaltending from Ty Imbeau which allowed them to build up a comfortable 4-0 lead heading into the second intermission off of goals by Gage Kirk (1), Joshua Miles (1), Cooper Niquet (1) and Jacob Bertucci (1).

The Lakers were able to break the shutout bid for Imbeau on a goal by Evan Miller (1) with just 50 seconds left in the game. York Simcoe stayed disciplined only taking two penalties which didn’t provide Huron Perth with any opportunities to get back in the game.

“Defensively we played really well, there weren’t many mistakes and I think I played well, I did my job out there,” said Imbeau after the win, “we put more pressure on ourselves [after our loss yesterday], but we had faith in each other and I think we showed it out there today.”

York Simcoe has the rest of the day off before a double-header tomorrow against Detroit Honeybaked at 8:00am and Hill Academy at 7:15pm. Huron Perth is back at it tonight against the Toronto Marlboros at 5:15pm.

The ALLIANCE Champion London Jr. Knights flexed their muscles in a 10-1 win over the Thunder Bay Kings on Day 2 of the 2026 OHL Cup.

London’s New Era Player of the Game, Ryan Salmoni (2) got things going early for his team scoring two goals in the opening 1:48 of the game. Teammate Jace Luchanko (1) added another before the end of the first to give the Jr. Knights a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.

Early in the second period Thunder Bay’s Liam Maxwell (1) netted his first of the tournament to get the Kings on the board. A couple powerplay goals by London’s Finley Butler (1) and Drew Bate (1) would widen the gap to 5-1 before the end of the second period. London padded to their lead in the third period on their way to the 10-1 win, marking their first victory of the tournament.

London’s Graham Littlejohn put up one goal and four assists in the win, while teammate Drew Bate had two goals and two assists, “We kind of started out slow, we were trying to pile up some goals for the goals against and goals for average,” said Bate, “I’ve been playing pretty good. The first game pucks just didn’t go in the net, it happens, but the next game we persevered, I hope we can keep it rolling through the tournament.”

A busy week ahead for Detroit Honeybaked started with a 3-1 win over the GTHL’s Toronto Marlboros.

Toronto got to work early with a goal by Michael Warner (1) just 4:28 into the game. Honeybaked entered the 2026 OHL Cup fresh off of an appearance at Nationals just last week so a little bit of fatigue might have been expected.

They were able to find their touch in the second period scoring a pair of goals by Austin Hall (2) just 3:10 apart. “I think we played great, we lost two of our guys from the regular season so we brought in two guys and made sure they feel part of the team,” said Hall, “we played a gritty game and got to work this morning.”

The Marlboros threw 13 shots on net in the final frame trying to even the score but Honeybaked goalie Carter Nash stopped all of them down the stretch to preserve the 3-1 win after his team added an empty net goal.

“We got back Saturday night [from Nationals], tried to rest the legs, get a good night's sleep and get ready for this week after a long week,” said Nash after his team’s opening game win.

Detroit Honeybaked will rest up before taking on Hill Academy at 4:00pm. The Toronto Marlboros will look to get back in the win column when they play the Huron-Perth Lakers at 5:15pm.

The Brantford 99ers used a dominant second period to power past the Quinte Red Devils with a 5-2 win in OHL Cup action, outshooting their opponents 43-26.

“Pretty good. I thought we got pucks deep, won our battles down low, and got a lot of shots on net,” said captain Roman Vanacker following the win.

Brantford opened the scoring early in the first period, as Calum Morgan (1) found the back of the net just over two minutes into the game. Ethan Zivanovich (2) followed later in the frame, doubling the 99ers’ lead to make it 2-0 heading into the intermission.

The 99ers continued to build momentum in the second period. Vanacker (1) extended the lead with what would stand as the game-winning goal, before Carson Vukelich (2) added another to make it 4-0.

“This is a great tournament for us and every team in here. It's going pretty well for us. We had a tough loss yesterday in overtime, but we bounced back this morning and had a great game,” Vanacker added.

Quinte responded midway through the period on the power play, with Kalum Phillips (1) getting the Red Devils on the board. However, Brantford answered back before the end of the frame, as Emry Lowe (2) restored the four-goal cushion.

Jack Sutton (1) added a third-period marker for Quinte, but the Red Devils were unable to close the gap any further as Brantford held firm the rest of the way.
